Cookie Policy

We have updated our Cookie Policy as of December 8, 2018.

MyTimeline Cookie Policy

Welcome to MyTimeline™, a service provided by Timeline, Inc. ("MyTimeline," "we, " "our," or "us").

Our Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use cookies, how third parties that we may partner with may use cookies, and your choices regarding cookies.

This Cookie Policy, together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Membership Services Agreement, and any other terms or policies specifically referred to in any of those documents, constitute a legally binding agreement (the “Agreement”) between you and MyTimeline in relation to your use of the Website and Services (together, the “Platform”).

MyTimeline uses cookies on the Platform. By using the Platform, you consent to the use of cookies.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of text sent by your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the Service or a third-party to recognize you and make your next visit easier and the Service more useful to you.

Cookies can be "persistent" or "session" cookies.

How MyTimeline Uses Cookies

When you use and access the Platform, we may place a number of cookies files in your web browser.

We use cookies for the following purposes: to enable certain functions of the Platform, to provide analytics, to store your preferences, and to enable advertisements delivery, including behavioral advertising.

We use both session and persistent cookies on the Platform and we use different types of cookies to run the Platform:

  • Essential cookies. We may use essential cookies to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts.
  • Session cookies. These are only stored in your web browser’s memory until it is closed down. These cookies are used for many site functions, such as quickly loading a page.
  • Persistent Cookies: These are set up with a specific expiration date, so they will survive in your web browser’s memory for a certain period of time before deletion. They are used to keep you logged in, track web analytics, etc.
  • Secure or HTTP only Cookies: Secure cookies are only transmitted over “https” pages to keep data encrypted and secure.

Third Party Cookies

In addition to our own cookies, we may also use various third party cookies, placed and collected by other third parties, such as services used by us for web analytics or payment processing services. These third party cookies could be used to report usage statistics of the Platform or to process your payments.

What Are Your Choices Regarding Cookies?

If you do not want to accept cookies from our Platform or allow MyTimeline to store information relating to such cookies, check your internet browser's instructions and adjust your browser settings accordingly. Most browsers can be configured to notify you when cookies arrive and ask your approval to accept them, or to refuse cookies outright. Most browsers can also delete cookies you may have accepted in the past.

Please note, however, that if you delete cookies or refuse to accept them, you might not be able to use all of the features we offer, you may not be able to store your preferences, and some of our pages might not display properly.
