Welcome to myTimeline™, a service provided by Timeline, Inc. ("myTimeline," "we," "our," or "us").

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use, and disclose your information when you use Timelineinc.com (the “Website”) and all related sites, widgets, tools, apps, data, software, APIs, and other services provided by myTimeline (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to anyone visiting the Website or using the Services (“you,” “your,” or “user”) and also to anyone registering a myTimeline account (a “Member”).

By using the Website or any of the Services, and in particular by registering a myTimeline account, you are consenting to the use of your information in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy. Please note that this Privacy Policy only applies to the Website and the Services (together, the “Platform”). When using the Platform, you may find links to other websites, apps, and services, or tools that enable you to share information with other websites, apps, and services. myTimeline is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other websites, apps and services and we recommend that you review the privacy policies of each of these websites, apps, or services before connecting your myTimeline account or sharing any personal data.

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we do so, we will also revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will be available here so that myTimeline users and Members are always aware of what information we gather, and how we might use and share that information. Please be sure to check back here from time to time to ensure that you are aware of any changes to this Privacy Policy. Any material changes to this Privacy Policy will be communicated to Members by a notification to their account and/or by posting a notice of the change on the Website.

Our Principles

Our approach to data protection and privacy is built on two simple principles:

  1. Transparency. You should know what information we collect and what we do with that information. If there is anything unclear in this Privacy Policy, please contact us at privacy@timelineinc.com.
  2. Control. You should have control over your information. This Privacy Policy explains how we use and share your information. Members may update or delete private information in their membership profile at any time.
  3. Security. The security of your information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Only For Use By Adults

myTimeline is intended for use by adults. Anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted to use the Platform and must not attempt to register an account or submit any personal information to us. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from any person who is under the age of 18 or allow them to register an account. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personal data from a person under the age of 18, we will delete this information as quickly as possible. Nothing, however, in this policy is intended to prevent a member from submitting personal information for their own child or children. If you have reason to believe that we may have improperly collected any such personal data, please notify us immediately at privacy@timelineinc.com.

Information We Collect About You; How That Information Is Used

You do not need to provide us with any personal information in order to visit the Website or use the Services, prior to becoming a member.

However, if you register a myTimeline account and become a Member, you will provide us with certain information. Portions of this information will be made viewable to other members that you designate, other information will be kept private, while some information will be shared with third parties. myTimeline works with several third party service providers and affiliates that will have access to some of your private information (collectively "Service Providers"). These Service Providers include financial institutions that are responsible for processing membership fees and other charges.

Information Provided By Members

myTimeline collects certain information from its Members to enable myTimeline to operate and maintain the Platform, communicate with its Members, and offer myTimeline Services. This information includes, but is not limited to:

  • your name
  • your gender
  • your user name
  • your email address
  • your birthdate
  • a user-specified password
  • your mailing address, zip code and telephone number.

myTimeline will only use Member email addresses to verify enrollment or for customer service. myTimeline may also use a Member's email address to send news regarding myTimeline and our services; however, Members may opt-out from receiving such information.

Member Information in Your Profile

Once you become a Member, myTimeline will make some of your personal information viewable to other Members that you designate in the course of providing myTimeline Services. The visibility of your personal information is always controlled by you.

The profile information you provide may be deleted, edited, changed, or amended by you at any time. If you have any questions about how the information in your profile is displayed or used, please contact us at privacy@timelineinc.com.

Information We Collect Automatically

There is certain information that we collect automatically as the result of your use of the Platform or through the use of web analytics services. This information is used by myTimeline to improve the Platform, by determining which aspects of and to what degree the myTimeline website is used by visitors and Members. This information includes:

  • the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the device from which you access the Platform (this can sometimes be used to derive the country or city from which you are accessing the Platform)
  • the site that you visited immediately prior to visiting the Website
  • the specific actions that you take on the Platform, including the pages that you visit, links you click on, tracks you listen to, and searches you perform
  • any search terms that you may enter on the Website
  • the time, frequency and duration of your visits to the Platform
  • your browser type and operating system
  • the nature of the device from which you are accessing the Platform, for example, whether you are accessing the Platform from a personal computer or from a mobile device
  • information collected through cookies and similar technology
  • information regarding your interaction with email messages, for example, whether you opened, clicked on, or forwarded the email message.

Sharing of Your Information

We will not share your information with any third party, except as described in this Privacy Policy. There are circumstances where we may need to share some of the information we collect about you or which you provide to us; these circumstances are as follows:

  • Service providers: We may use certain reputable third parties to provide us with certain specialized services related to the Platform. These third parties will have access to certain information about you, but only where this is necessary in order for those third parties to provide their services to us.   • In the context of a business transfer: We may transfer your information to any person or company that acquires all or substantially all of the assets or business of myTimeline, or on a merger of our business, or in the event of our insolvency.

Cookies and Similar Technology

In common with most websites, we use cookies and other standard Internet technologies to help us improve the Website and the Services we provide. myTimeline may store data in the form of a "cookie" or similar file that is automatically downloaded to your computer to allow us to customize your website experience to match your interests, based at least in part on your past visits and facilitate login and security features. Choice and Control

It is not necessary for you to provide us with any personal information in order to visit the visit the Website or to use the Services to view information made public by Members, although certain information will be collected automatically by virtue of your

visit (as described above). However, if you do decide to register a myTimeline account and become a Member, you can control your information in the following ways.

Editing of Member Account Information

The profile information you provide may be deleted, edited, changed, or amended by you at any time. If you have any questions about how the information in your public profile is displayed or used, please contact us at privacy@timelineinc.com.

Email Preferences

myTimeline will only use Member email addresses to verify enrollment or for customer service. myTimeline may also use a Member's email address to send news regarding myTimeline and our services; however, Members may opt-out from receiving such information.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your Membership at any time according to the terms of the myTimeline Membership Service Agreement. Please bear in mind that, if you delete your account, all data associated with your account, including the data that you have uploaded, will be deleted and may not be recoverable. You are therefore advised to copy or back up all content uploaded to your account before you delete your account.

If you ask us to delete your account, we will do so within a reasonable period of time, but we may need to retain some of your personal data in order to satisfy our legal obligations, or where we have a legitimate reason for doing so.
